Universitas Indonesia Promotes Responsible Financial Management to Employees with Bank Syariah Indonesia

Depok, 14 November 2025 – Universitas Indonesia (UI), in collaboration with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) organized an online workshop on ‘Managing Finances for Modern Employees’ (‘Mengelola Keuangan untuk Pegawai Modern’) on 13 November 2025. This event was open to all UI employees and successfully attracted more than 75 participants.

The Director for Human Resources and Talent Development, Dr. Eng., Ir. Muhammad Arif Budiyanto, S.T., M.T., IPM., emphasized that the workshop was designed to support the financial well-being of UI employees. Dr. Arif highlighted that the initiative aims to equip UI employees with practical knowledge of the latest financial management products and methods, provided through BSI’s expertise, to help employees better manage their personal finances.

  1. Alamsyah Ramadhan Z. Arifin, Manager at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and the keynote speaker of the workshop, opened the session by presenting a five-step financial planning framework:
  2. Purpose: Defining financial goals
  3. Evaluate: Assessing current financial conditions
  4. Checking: Reviewing cash flow
  5. Implementation: Applying financial planning
  6. Review: Reassessing and adjusting plans


Building on this foundation, he introduced recommended income allocation models, a prioritization scale for financial needs, and key principles for healthy debt management. He also outlined various investment and asset planning options, followed by a suite of BSI financial products designed to support these strategies. This includes gold savings, loan schemes for various needs, credit cards, a digital banking platform, as well as special offers for UI employees with a BSI payroll account. As a sharia-based institution, BSI additionally showcased its Hajj and Umrah savings programs tailored to support long-term spiritual and financial goals.


This workshop contributes substantively to the targets of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1: No Poverty, by equipping UI employees with essential knowledge in financial planning, debt management, and investment strategies. It reflects UI’s commitment to poverty reduction not merely through aid or subsidies, but also through empowering individuals with the tools and understanding needed to take control of their financial well-being. By enhancing UI employees’ ability to access and utilize inclusive financial products, and to manage income effectively, the workshop promotes financial inclusion across UI. Furthermore, by introducing key concepts such as emergency savings, asset planning, and retirement preparation, the program strengthens individual resilience against economic shocks and long-term financial vulnerability.
