Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Universitas Indonesia (UI) demonstrates a tangible commitment to improving health and well-being through strategic collaborations with health institutions at various levels throughout 2024, ranging from internally on campus, national, to international.
Local Collaboration
Within the campus, faculties such as the Faculty of Engineering (FT) prioritize the healthcare for the UI community. From August 6–8, 2024, FTUI collaborated with the Universitas Indonesia Hospital (RSUI) to hold the 2024 Medical Check-Up for 535 lecturers, administrative staff, and support staff. Comprehensive examinations, ranging from general physicals, eye exams, EKG, abdominal ultrasound, to laboratory analysis for cholesterol, HbA1c, and others, were conducted to ensure the optimal health condition of the entire academic community. This initiative affirms that UI promotes research and teaching as well as prioritizes internal well-being as a foundation for performance.
National Collaboration
On a broader scale, UI strengthened our partnership with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in the implementation of smoke-free areas. UI serves as a model university in supporting public health, integrating education, policy, and campus activities to create a healthier environment.
International Collaboration
UI also stepped onto the global stage in terms of collaborations in health through various strategic moves. One such effort is through RSUI establishing collaboration with South Korean technology companies, namely Kakao Healthcare Corp and Waycen Healthcare Corp, to build Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based health services. This initiative is aimed at improving the efficiency of medical services, medical education, and clinical research in Indonesia.
Furthermore, the Faculty of Public Health at UI is also exploring cooperation with the Universidade da Paz, Timor Leste, in developing postgraduate programs in public health and medicine. This step demonstrates UI’s vision to expand our network and health impact to the regional level.
With this series of collaborations across the campus environment, national policy, and international networks, Universitas Indonesia reinforces our position as an institution that focuses not only on teaching and research, but also on tangible impact on public health and well-being.
