Universitas Indonesia (UI) hosts a specific research center focused on environmental sustainability, known as The Center for Research of Human Resources and the Environment (PPSML), as well as the Research Center for Climate Change – Universitas Indonesia (RCCC UI). PPSML conducts wide-ranging research in the environmental sector, encompassing areas like environmental biology, chemistry, economics, cultural studies, law, health, engineering, education, and geography. It carries out various research activities such as producing Environmental Impact Analysis and Traffic Impact Analysis documents, performing Environmental Audits, monitoring and evaluating biodiversity, conducting Environmental Baseline Assessments and Net Environmental Benefit Assessments, managing hazardous waste, and executing Strategic Environmental Assessments, among other duties. Serving as a nexus for research and community services, the RCCC UI is a distinguished research center within the University of Indonesia, known for its effectiveness in actualizing its vision and mission in the field of climate change research.
